Our Story

Hi, I’m Wendy!  Welcome to the new Vintage Painted Pretty website which now also incorporates Apricot Rose.

I am based in County Down, Northern Ireland in a beautiful part of the world, where the mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea.  I have always loved nature and the great outdoors and where better to pull on the hiking boots and get out and about.  I grew up in a family which was very much described as good with their hands, my father being a carpenter and my mother dress making, painting and various other crafts.  From an early age, therefore, I was surrounded by many materials, woods, metals, and fabrics and this is where my love for arts & crafts and interior design was first born.

For many years I honed my skills creating bespoke jewellery, ornaments and clothing accessories as a hobby.  I successfully showcased and sold many creations at craft fairs across Northern Ireland.  I find fairs thoroughly enjoyable as I take great pleasure out of meeting and chatting to new and returning customers.

All my painted items have been restored and refinished to a high standard.  I meticulously prepare each piece prior to painting, and I only use top quality paint in all my projects.  I am now including some painted and decoupaged household items within Vintage Painted Pretty.  My other creations such as crocheted gifts and accessories can also be found here under Apricot Rose.
